The challenge: an independent publisher whose covers were unrecognisable side by side on a shelf. The approach: a registration-mark monogram and a strict two-weight display system that holds from a spine to a poster, with four fixed inks so every title looks related without looking identical.

The challenge: route planning that buried the one thing people arrive for. The approach: a search-first layout, a map that stays visible while results change, and a documented component set sized for developer handoff.

The challenge: a late-night concert season that had to read at three metres and three centimetres. The approach: one typographic lock-up, a fixed cobalt-and-ink contrast rule, and a tile system that keeps posters, tickets and social in the same voice.

Have something specific in mind? Let's talk

Studio

Good design starts with understanding.

What makes your business different? What do your customers need to understand? What should they feel when they find you? We start with those questions, then shape a visual identity and digital experience that brings the answers to life.

Clarity first.
Make the message easy to understand.
Every detail matters.
Create consistency from the big idea to the smallest interaction.
Built together.
Keep communication clear and decisions collaborative.

Question oneWhat makes you different?Becomes a point of view you can state in one line — and an identity built on that line.

Question twoWhat must land first?Becomes the order of the page: what a visitor reads in three seconds, and what can wait.

Question threeWhat should it feel like?Becomes the type, the colour and the pace of every screen and every printed piece.

Process

A clear process. Room for great ideas.

Four stages, with the scope agreed before the work starts.

  1. 01

    Discover

Understand the business, audience, goals, and scope.

  2. 02

    Define

Establish the creative direction, structure, and priorities.

  3. 03

    Design

Develop the work, share progress, and refine it through focused feedback.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Prepare the final assets and handoff so the work is ready for its next step.

Questions

Before you get in touch.

Brand identities, websites and digital experiences, and creative assets for campaigns and everyday marketing.

Yes. A project can build on an existing identity or explore a new direction, depending on what the business needs.

Website design and developer handoff can be scoped as part of the project. Any development requirements should be discussed before work begins.

Pricing depends on the scope, complexity, and deliverables. Start by sharing what you need so the project can be defined clearly.

Send a short introduction to tina@motionscreatives.com with your project, goals, and any timing requirements.

The design goal

Make a small publisher's list recognisable as one house without flattening the individual titles. The test was a shelf: six spines, three metres away.

The approach

A registration mark drawn from print production becomes the monogram, so the identity carries the craft of the work. Two display weights, four fixed inks, and one rule position do the rest.

What is shown

Cover system, monogram application, business card, type specimen, letterhead with seal, and the ink palette with values.

Status

Self-initiated concept, created to demonstrate identity thinking. Not commissioned work, and no client, result, or performance claim is attached to it.

The design goal

Put the decision first. People arrive to answer one question — where can I go this weekend — and the layout should answer it before anything else asks for attention.

The approach

Search leads, filters sit beside it as a single row, results and the map share one viewport so comparing never costs a page load, and the mobile screen keeps the same reading order rather than a reduced one.

What is shown

Desktop route list with map panel, mobile route detail, and the colour, rule and spacing tokens the screens are built from.

Status

Self-initiated concept. Interface content is authored for demonstration; no product, user numbers, or outcomes are implied.

The design goal

One concert season, read from a street poster and from a phone in a dark room. The same idea had to survive both distances.

The approach

The wordmark breaks across three lines so it scales as a shape, not a word. Cobalt and ink alternate by placement rather than by whim, and the clear space is defined as one cap height so every application stays sure of itself.

What is shown

Lead poster, secondary poster, two social tiles with the mark's safe area, horizontal lock-up, and the printed ticket.

Status

Self-initiated concept. Events, dates and venues are invented for the demonstration and are not real listings.

What this site collects

Nothing directly. This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no tracking pixels, loads no third-party fonts or scripts, and has no form that transmits data to us. There is no account, no login, and no advertising technology on this site.

The contact form

The introduction builder in the contact section runs entirely in your browser. What you type is assembled into a message and handed to your own email application. Nothing is stored on this site and nothing is transmitted to us until you press send in your own mail app.

Email you send us

When you email tina@motionscreatives.com, we receive and keep that email and any attachments so that we can reply and, if we work together, run the project. Those messages sit in our email provider's systems [ADD: email provider, for example Google Workspace or Microsoft 365]. We keep project correspondence for as long as it is useful to the working relationship [ADD: a retention period you can actually honour].

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like virtually all web hosts, Vercel processes standard request information — such as IP address, browser user agent, requested URL and timestamp — to serve pages and protect against abuse. We do not use that information to build profiles of visitors. [CONFIRM: your hosting arrangement and whether a data processing agreement is in place]

Legal basis and your rights

Where data protection law applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to its use. To exercise any of them, email tina@motionscreatives.com. Sharing

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. Service providers who process data on our behalf are limited to our email provider and our website host, named above.

Changes

If this site starts collecting anything — a server-side contact form, analytics, or embedded media — this policy must be updated before that goes live, and a cookie or consent notice may then be required.

What this site is

This website presents the studio's services and design work and invites project inquiries by email. It is information, not an offer capable of acceptance, and nothing on it forms a contract.

Project work is separately agreed

Any engagement is governed by a separate written proposal or agreement covering scope, deliverables, fees, timing, revisions, and ownership. Service descriptions on this site describe what can be scoped, not what is included by default. Website development is not included in design work unless a signed scope says so.

The design work shown

All project work on this site is self-initiated concept work created by the studio to demonstrate its design thinking. It is labelled as such wherever it appears. Project names, interface content, events and dates within those concepts are invented for the demonstration and refer to no real organisation.

Intellectual property

The site's design, code, text, and the concept work shown belong to Motions Creative. You may view and share links to the site. You may not copy, reproduce, or reuse its content or designs without written permission.

Your inquiry

Please do not send confidential information in a first email. Send only what is needed to describe the project; anything sensitive should wait until a confidentiality agreement is in place.
